The story

Years in the making. Just getting started.

A thirsty, depleted near-future Earth sends its poor youth off to a distant, desert planet. There, they will mine for the ice found deep beneath the blazing sands. These young exiles are people of color, unwanted, unspoken-for, and they are never going home. The question for them is: will they reproduce the violence and the tribalism they left behind, or will they make something new, even beautiful?
